Kadence Turner had a rough relationship three years ago that left her scarred (literally, she was involved in a fire) and hurt and unable to open up to people, but now she is finally taking control of her life again and facing her future as a new single woman. Five months ago or so I first tried to read a MC book and let me tell you, I’m all in for a bit of alpha male but what I got there was down right caveman behavior and none of the female characters seemed to stand up for themselves! One of the things I liked most about this book was the feisty, witty female character that only let our fabulous male character “manhandle” her when she wanted it. Praise the Lord because I’ve finally found a MC book that I don’t despise, actually, I very much like it. A man that wants what he wants and a woman that will fight him every step of the way. The tension is undeniable, the attraction fierce. The bossy biker breaks down her defenses, but unlike the old Kadence, the woman she is today won’t give in without a fight. Nix is crass, obnoxious and dangerously sexy and for some reason, Kadence can’t seem to hate him for it. Kadence Turner has no business lusting over a student’s father, especially the president of the Knights Rebels MC. Phoenix ‘Nix’ Knight thought pulling his club out of the illegal shit his Pops got them into was difficult.
